FERTILITY INVESTIGATIONS

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a frequent diagnostic method used by our reproductive specialists to assist infertile patients. A hysteroscopy is used as part of the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) process to ensure that your uterus is healthy enough for an embryo to implant and flourish. It is a process in which an endoscope (a thin, lighted, and flexible tube with a diameter as broad as a pencil with a light and camera at the end) is inserted into the uterine cavity. Without the necessity for incisions, this procedure is carried out through the cervix. With hysteroscopy, we may look inside the womb to see if there are any structural abnormalities (diaphragm, bicornuate uterus, etc.) or abnormal growths disrupting its architecture (polyps, fibroids, adhesions). Hysteroscopy enables us to address any concerns we discover right away. A variety of surgical equipment may be introduced through the narrow endoscope tube, providing a rapid solution to most difficulties. The majority of the time, hospitalisation is not required following the surgery. The patient can return home the same day, with no need to abstain from usual activities for the next few days. It is commonly believed that uterine cavity architectural defects should be surgically rectified, leading to a greater conception rate.
